Grapevine students feel adults let them down

Coverage of the Grapevine podcast has spread from the local D Magazine to MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight with 20+ minutes of coverage October 5.

One of the key take-aways Antonia Hylton highlighted for Alex in the interview is how the students in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD feel this didn’t have to happen if adults had done their “job” of protecting public schools.

At minute 5:44, Alex asks how the students feel in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD

Voting is a key piece to ensuring schools are independently run to deliver a well-rounded, accurate education. Voting to protect public schools also means we ensure teachers and students feel safe and encouraged to be their unique selves.

For Grapevine, our biggest need is donations. We are fighting a huge marketing engine, as proven in the podcast’s research. It is one of the reasons several local organizations are coming together to collaborate and provide informative programs and communications with a common set of messages.

Unifying our efforts is the only way we can truly protect our community from an extreme religious takeover.
